The Citizenship course provides trainees with knowledge, skills and experiences that will benefit them as they progress in their roles within the community and wider world. We look not only at their rights as a British citizen, but also the wider concept of Human rights around the world and the responsibilities they can expect to encounter as their lives change and progress.
Collaborating with external groups the trainees will experience helping others and gain a sense of what they can experience within their own community. This particular module will culminate in a trip to the top of the Minster to view the whole of York and hopefully impart a sense of scale of the city we live in.
Building confidence and self esteem is a very popular module that all trainees find truly beneficial, especially the "10 ways to boost confidence" presentation. Returning to the worksheets several times over the year for self-assessment the trainees really can see and feel their confidence and self esteem grow.
