The Learning Hub

The Melbourne Centre

The Blueberry Academy is highly experienced in supporting disabled learners and people with learning difficulties into paid work and other working opportunities, such as self-employment and supported work placements. We understand life beyond education and aim to prepare people in the best way possible. We support people to be active citizens and to take pride and ownership of the place they live in.

The Blueberry Academy is based in York and Personalised Learning will typically be for 1 or 2 years. The Melbourne Centre and Silver Street premises have a great community feel and the small groups ensure that learning can be tailored to each individual student.

North Yorkshire

We operate an education and social care service across the county in Scarborough, Selby and Northallerton. In these areas we work in partnership with Adult Learning in North Yorkshire and people access the Blueberry team for our employment and enterprise expertise. To find out more about personalised learning in North Yorkshire visit there website through the link below.

North Yorkshire County Council - Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

Other than the Melbourne Centre, our blueberry learning sites are at:

Scarborough Hub - Woodend

At Woodend we create and up-cycle a range of products using traditional and modern techniques - producing quality art, craft, clothing and furniture items. See the Facebook page for more information. Spaces are available for Social Care places.

Selby Hub - EmPeople shop, Crescent (opposite Selby Abbey)

At the EmPeople shop we have a mixed workshop and sales space, where in addition to items being made and sold, we deliver workshops and small group activities. The shop produces it's own items and prepares people for employment and the world of work. Spaces are available for Social Care places.

Northallerton

Here we have no designated hub as we only work in partnership with the learning provider.
